RCB’s full squad for IPL 2024

The Royal Challengers Bangalore think-tank had a wild day in Dubai as they began the IPL 2024 Auction slowly before pulling off a robbery to fill every spot with INR 2.85 crore left in the bank.

After a fruitless one-on-one match to sign Pat Cummins with SunRisers Hyderabad, the Caribbean fast Alzarri Joseph was acquired by RCB for INR 11.50 crore as the team's first purchase of the day. Joseph can routinely reach speeds of 145 kph and has a formidable bumper at his disposal. The dangerous pacer, along with Reece Topley, the pace spearhead, will undoubtedly be the one to watch out for with the new IPL rule allowing two bouncers in a single over.

Left-arm pacer Yash Dayal, who can be very useful with the new ball and in the middle overs, was next for the Royal Challengers. His recent performance on the local circuit has been encouraging, and RCB's decision to spend INR 5 crore on the young fast has paid off handsomely.

Tom Curran, who was signed for his basic price of INR 1.5 crore, was the day's next purchase. After amassing scores of 38*, 43*, 18*, and 67* in the Hundred last year, the seasoned England all-rounder stunned the Hobart Hurricanes with remarkable numbers of 3/19 in the present BBL.

After the Red and Gold Brigade brought Lockie Ferguson on board to bolster their side even further, the RCB's main area of worry was a competent fast bowling unit. Prior to a few late purchases by RCB, the Kiwi express was able to close a sale for INR 2 crore.

An accomplished Swapnil Singh was brought in to obtain a few mysterious revs that distinguish him from the others. Swapnil, who cost INR 20 lakh at purchase, adds value to the Royal Challengers' spinners unit. Saurav Chauhan, the day's last purchase, was the record holder for the highest strike rate in an innings (338.88) when facing at least 10 balls in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He was hired at his INR 20 lakh base salary.
